Hello — I'm Hema Tandon.
My journey into the world of gluten-free & wheat-free baking began with a deep sense of love, determination, and the unwavering desire to make life better for my son. When he was four years old, he was diagnosed with Celiac Disease (gluten intolerant). As a mother, watching my young, energetic child, full of curiosity and a love for trying new things, struggle to enjoy the simple joys of birthday cakes, pizza nights, and family gatherings was heartbreaking. I found it incredibly challenging to keep him safe from gluten while still making life feel joyful, inclusive, and full of possibility.
I saw the frustration on his face as he hesitated to join in, feeling left out because there were no safe options for him. He couldn't experience the same treats as other kids. But instead of accepting this, I decided to do something about it. I dove into the world of gluten-free & wheat-free baking, learning how to make cakes, buns, breads, macarons, pizzas, bagels, donuts, cupcakes, stuffed breads, vegetarian meatballs — all gluten-free & wheat-free, but still indulgent, satisfying, and full of flavor.
Over the past six years, I've honed my skills, experimenting and perfecting my recipes, until the gluten-free & wheat-free versions weren't just "safe" — they were better. Better in taste, texture, and heart. I discovered that gluten-free & wheat-free can be just as indulgent, comforting, and delicious as any traditional treat.
But what truly sparked the idea of turning my passion into a business was the overwhelming response I received from others who tasted my products. People began to reach out, sharing how they felt included for the first time, how they could finally enjoy treats without worry. One person's words, in particular, left an indelible mark on me: "I wish you were my mother."
That moment triggered something inside me — a realization that I wasn't just making food, I was making a difference. That was the turning point when I knew I had to share my creations with the world, not just for my son, but for all those who are living with gluten allergies, sensitivities, or simply want healthier alternatives.
I realized I wasn't alone. Many families, children, and adults are navigating the challenges of living gluten-free & wheat-free, often feeling excluded or limited in their food choices. I knew that my skills could help people find joy in food again. And so, TRGF-Products was born — a place where delicious, healthy, gluten-free & wheat-free alternatives are made with care, love, and the belief that everyone deserves to indulge without compromise. My mission is simple: to offer products that not only taste as good — or better — than their gluten counterparts but are also made with the highest quality ingredients and a commitment to health and inclusivity.
